Steinfeder
“Steinfeder” is the name for very light and delicate wines of Wachau's wine-growing estates.
Stipea Pinnata, or Steinfeder, is a feathery grass that grows on the steep hills of the Wachau and gave its name to the category.
The wines can be produced of all grapes grown in the area which have at least 15°KMW. The must is classically dry fermentet and the alcohol content is woth 11vol.% quite low. Thanks to the Wachau's special climate wine with low alcohol levels can be pressed without losing any of the charm and richness and please even those with the highest claims.
